On December 17, 2018, the roof of one of industrial buildings collapsed in the town of Dzerzhinsk, Moscow Region. The workers got caught under the rubble, three of them died. The Moscow Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened an investigation into safety rules violation during the construction works, entailing by negligence the death of two or more persons (Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

It has been previously established that the works on the roof heat insulation were carried out in the industrial building. Under the weight of the insulation and blocks, the roof collapsed. The three workers, who were directly on the roof, died when it collapsed; four workers, who were inside the building, were hospitalised with various injuries.

Currently, a team of investigators is working at the scene; shifting of the rubble and the scene inspection continue.
