Sentence for former First Deputy Governor of Primorsky Territory announced

The evidence gathered by the Primorsky Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was found by the court to be sufficient to sentence Vasily Usoltsev, the former First Deputy Governor of Primorsky Territory. He was found guilty of committing an offence under Article 289 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal participation in business activity).

The investigation and the court established that the defendant had been regularly gaining profit from entrepreneur activities, which he used at his discretion, together with his accomplice, against the law of the Russian Federation, when holding the position of the First Deputy Governor of Primorsky Territory.

The crime was revealed by officers of the Primorsky Regional Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

The court sentenced the defendant to a fine of 6.3 million roubles and prohibited him to hold certain positions for two years and ten months. The accomplice was sentenced to a fine of 1.1 million roubles.
