In Irkutsk Region, two accomplices of illegal turnover of alcohol-containing preparation sentenced

The evidence gathered by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was found by the court to be sufficient to sentence Alexander Okunev and Roman Ivanov. They were found guilty of committing an offence under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (production, storage, carriage or sale of goods and products, which do not meet standards of safety to lives or health of consumers perpetrated by a group of individuals under a preliminary conspiracy).

The investigation and the court established that, during November and December 2016, the accused individuals had been purchasing an alcohol-containing product featuring methanol, in the city of Irkutsk, for their financial benefit. At home, they had been rendering the product into an alcohol-containing liquid and selling it as Boyaryshnik cosmetic product to an unidentified circle of people in Irkutsk while presenting it as an alcohol beverage.

Upon the evidence provided by the Investigative Committee, the court found them guilty of the charged crime and sentenced Okunev to three years of imprisonment in a strict regime correctional colony and Ivanov to two years of imprisonments in a general regime correctional colony.

A range of individuals affiliated with the turnover of the deadly product, had already been found guilty of the charged crimes by the court. Without doubt, every accomplice of the illegal activities will be held responsible as the law states, appropriate to their deeds.
