In Perm Territory, identification of workers died in shaft completed

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues the investigation into an offence under Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of Russia - into the violation of the safety rules during mining and construction works in a mine shaft that entailed death of nine people in Solikamsk District of Perm Territory.

According to the investigation, in the morning of December 22, 2018, the mine shaft under construction in Solikamsk District of Perm Territory started to smoke during the works. There were nine employees of a contractor entity in the shaft who died in the fire. As of today, the criminal inquiries have been opened into Andrey Kuprishkin, the mine overseer of US-30 SMU-680; Maxim Kaniscshev, the site No. 5 supervisor of the mine shaft SKRU-3 of US-30 SMU-680; Igor Chukaev, the mine overseer of US-30 SMU-680; Andrey Artyukhin, the mine shaft supervisor SKRU-3 of US-30 SMU-680.

The bodies of all the deceased were brought up to the surface in the evening of December 23. Today, all nine persons were identified; their relatives were given burial permits.

There is a set of other investigative and procedural activities taken to establish all the circumstances of the accident, as well as to gather and document the evidence. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
