Chairman of Russian Investigative Committee requests for probes from Amur Region and Altai Territory into injured children to be referred to Central Office


Tonight, a road traffic incident happened in Altai Territory, in which minibus passengers were injured, including eight children. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to launch a probe immediately. Further investigation is to be conducted by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the Amur Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are working on an inquiry under Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules) due to the infection of more than 20 children with hepatitis C in Children’s Teaching Hospital. Due to the petition of Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya to Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, it was decided to refer the probe to the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee.

Both investigations are supervised by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
