Alexander Bastrykin initiates transfer of criminal case file on robbery of Head of CEC from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Investigative Committee of Russia

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin has initiated the transfer of the criminal case on the robbery attack on the home of Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova to the Central Office of the Investigative Committee for further investigation. Taking into account the resonance, the victim’s position, and the scope of her professional activities, the investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate will continue to establish all the circumstances of the crime committed, on behalf of the Head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

As part of the preliminary investigation, all necessary measures will be taken as soon as possible to establish the circumstances of the attack and the persons involved. For this purpose, operational forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service of Russia will be engaged. With due diligence, the investigators will check and work on every possible version of the crime, including that of an attack associated with professional activities of the victim, and will establish the motive and purpose. All actions of the persons involved in the commission of the crime will be given a comprehensive legal assessment subject to the criminal legislation in force.
