Alexander Bastrykin takes under his control the probes into deaths of children in Krasnodar and Kamchatka Territories


The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin took under control the probes into deaths of children in Krasnodar and Kamchatka Territories.

The Kamchatka Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case against a woman suspected of offences under Paragraphs A, C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of two juveniles). According to the investigation, on September 9, 2019 the suspect murdered her two children of one and a half and five years of age. The Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia demanded to give a legal assessment of actions (inaction) of preventive services responsible for control over well-being of children and conditions of their life and upbringing and to check whether this family had been supervised by preventive services and whether these services had previously registered signals of social disadvantage of this family.

In Krasnodar Territory two two-year-old girls and a kindergarten teacher were injured by a fallen tree. One of the children died of her injuries; the other children and the teacher were delivered to Krasnodar healthcare institutions to receive the required medical treatment. The Krasnodar Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a probe into an offence under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code or Russia (infliction of death by negligence). The Chairman of the Committee instructed to thoroughly inspect all causes and conditions that led to the offence, to identify specific officials responsible for safety of the object where the death of the child took place and to give comprehensive legal assessment of their actions (inaction).
