Large family in the Republic of Bashkortostan provided with accommodation due to measures taken by the Investigative Committee of Russia

In early 2019, the reception of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia at VKontakte social network received information that a couple, who is raising 10 children aged from 9 to 16 years had been left without residence owing to a fire in their household in Buribay settlement, Khaibullinsky District.

The Potyakins have raised four own children and adopted 12 foster children. The Khaibullinsky District Administration accommodated all of them in a municipal two-room apartment, but it could not have provided enough space for such a large family.

The Bashkortostan Republican Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia acted to protect the interests of the large family in the challenging life situation. The Acting Head of the Bashkortostan Republican Investigations Directorate sent letters to the management of the Bashkortostan Republican Administration, as well as to other relevant authorities, and arranged working meetings in order to assist in the allocation of funds for the construction or purchase of a house or for the provision of an appropriate housing for the family. The Head of the Sibay Interdistrict Investigative Department held a personal reception of the homeless fire victims, where they received legal assistance and got elaborated on legally possible ways to improve the living conditions of the family. At the same time, the parents of many children asked to consider the possibility of registration of housing ownership.

The Investigative Committee of Russia jointly with the relevant authorities made it happen. In particular, the Buribaevsky Mining and Processing Plant provided significant material support to the local charity fund, which helped to purchase a house for the Potyakins and delivered it to their ownership. A housewarming party took place in August.

Employees of the Bashkortostan Republican Investigations Directorate made a visit to the Potyakins. The spouses thanked the Investigative Committee and all those who helped to acquire the new housing for their assistance and attention.
