In Krasnodar Territory, probe launched into negligence of the head of kindergarten institution, where child got killed by fallen tree


The Krasnodar Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a probe into the head of a kindergarten institution of Krasnodar. She is suspected of neglect of duty, which involved the death of a child by negligence (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

To remind, on the morning of September 9, 2019, the upper part of a tree trunk had snapped off on a playground of one of the kindergarten institutions of Krasnodar, while a day-care group had been walking with their teacher. It had inflicted injuries to two minor girls of two years of age and a kindergarten teacher. One of the children died of her injuries; the other child and the teacher were delivered to Krasnodar healthcare institutions to receive the required medical treatment.

The head of the kindergarten institution where the tragedy had occurred neglected her duties, which involved the death of the small child by negligence.

At the moment, the investigation is conducting a complex of investigative activities to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.

Earlier, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to thoroughly inspect all causes and conditions that led to the offence, to identify specific officials responsible for the safety of the site where the death of the child had taken place, and to give a comprehensive legal assessment of their actions (inaction). The process and the results of the investigation into the tragedy involving the death of the child are supervised by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
