Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, together with officers of the Main Forensics Directorate (Forensics Centre) and of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee, has visited the Situation Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The Centre hosted a working meeting between Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Alexander Gorov, and representatives of a number of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including the Situation Centre. The participants discussed organizational matters of the Centre operation in the police system and issues of cooperation improvement in the field of information analysis exchange.
Since the Investigative Committee of Russia is developing its own Situation Centre, Alexander Bastrykin asked his colleagues about their experience of the functional development and successful implementation of tasks assigned to the Situation Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the use of technological advances for monitoring of the operational environment. The colleagues separately discussed the functioning of the Centre and tasks related to analysis and situation management of organizational and technical processes carried out by its employees.
The Head of the Investigative Committee underlined that, along with technical equipment, training of specialists for the work in situation centres is also important. Heads of the two agencies exchanged opinions on the necessity of the specific training of staff members of such units and on the opportunities for cooperation in this field.
Closing the meeting, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee thanked the leaders and officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the productive meeting and assistance on issues of use of modern developments for criminal proceedings.
