In the evening of September 26, 2019 bodies of a man and a woman born in 1928 and 1930 with signs of violent death were discovered in their apartment in Ryazan. The Ryazan Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a probe into an offence under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of two persons).

The direction of the Ryazan Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, investigators, forensic experts and forensic investigators immediately arrived at the scene, inspected the apartment and surrounding area in order to find and seize forensic objects of high evidentiary significance for the probe.

Other investigative activities are ongoing, DNA, fingerprinting and forensic examinations, aimed to establish all circumstances of the committed offence and to identify the perpetrator, have been arranged. Investigators are checking different versions including those related to mercenary motives of murder of the spouses. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
