Upon instruction of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, progress and results of procedural probe taken under control at Central Office, based on media materials into poor nutrition of children in one of orphanages in Novosibirsk Region

Several media outlets are spreading information about poor nutrition in a shelter for children and teenagers in Chanovsky District of Novosibirsk Region. In the reports, journalists mention that children complain about small portions and the poor quality of the food they are provided with. Also, according to the children and teenagers, the sick residents of the shelter are not provided with medicine on weekends due to the fact that painkillers and antipyretics are stored in a separate room, which is not accessible on Saturday and Sunday.

The Novosibirsk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia immediately launched a preliminary inquiry into this fact. In order to determine all the circumstances outlined in the media, the direction and officers of the regional investigation department went to the social institution. As part of the inspection, a legal evaluation will be given to the actions (inaction) of the shelter officials and other employees responsible for the proper accommodation of children in the institution and ensuring their life and health safety.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office to supervise the progress and results of the procedural probe.
