In Altai Territory, investigators press charges against Slavgorod citizen for murder of young woman and her two children

The Altai Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has pressed charges against a 22-year-old Slavgorod citizen for committing an offense under Paragraphs A and C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of two people, including minors).

According to the investigation, on the night of August 22, 2019, the victim had collected her personal belongings and documents and intended to leave for another region with her two children of 4 and 9 years of age. She had asked her husband’s brother for a ride to a railway station. While driving a motorcycle from the Pavlovka settlement to Slavgorod, the brother-in-law had stopped the vehicle and, following a conflict, dealt a blow to the face of the young woman making her lose consciousness. After that, he had smothered the children with an automobile rope and, when the victim had regained consciousness, had used the rope to squeeze her neck as well. The victims had died of asphyxiation. In order to hide traces of the murder, the accused individual had buried the bodies in a forest and been pouring concrete over them for several days.

Upon investigative motion, the court ruled to put him in custody. The investigators arranged the required forensic examinations and are collecting and proving the evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
