Alexander Bastrykin holds working meeting with Head of Interpol Russia

Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin held a working meeting with the Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexander Prokopchuk, who is currently the Vice President of Interpol.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of interaction in the area of international and federal search between the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia and the Interpol National Central Bureau for the swiftest tackling of tasks, including assistance to regional investigators. The parties made a number of arrangements on the use of Interpol databases and information resources of interest for investigation within the framework of the Situation Centre of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Officers of the Russian Bureau of Interpol assist the Investigative Committee of Russia in the investigation of high-profile probes, and a number of especially dangerous criminals have been extradited and brought to justice with their direct involvement. Due to the Interpol assistance, perpetrators of high-profile probes, including Aslan Gagiyev, Alexey Kuznetsov, and others, have been extradited to Russia.

The participants also exchanged opinions on the participation of the Russian Bureau in the upcoming session of the Interpol General Assembly that will take place in Chili.

Alexander Prokopchuk told the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia about the presentation made by representatives of the Interpol National Central Bureau to listeners of the advanced training program in the Saint Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. He highly appreciated the qualification of the audience, their interest in the subject, and the relevance of the questions asked. Alexander Prokopchuk added that, taking into account the positive experience, a similar class is already planned for the advanced training program in the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia and will take place in October of this year.

Alexander Bastrykin and Alexander Prokopchuk expressed their mutual hope for further constructive cooperation that will have a positive impact on the work of both agencies.
