Working meeting between Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia and Ambassador of the French Republic to Russia takes place in Moscow

A working meeting between Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin and Ambassador of the French Republic to Russia Sylvie Bermann took place today in Moscow.

France is a historical partner of Russia in Europe and in the world.

Before the meeting, Alexander Bastrykin warmly thanked Mrs. Bermann for her visit to the Investigative Committee of Russia. Cooperation between Russia and France in the law enforcement area is one of the most extensively developing areas of interaction. The parties noted that relations between Russia and France are crucial and decisive.

During the negotiations, the Heads of two agencies discussed a number of issues of bilateral agenda of mutual interest, including aspects of the interaction between the Investigative Committee of Russia and relevant authorities of the French Republic and developed a plan of further joint work.

Following the negotiations, Alexander Bastrykin expressed hope for further progressive and comprehensive collaboration between Russia and France and noted that this meeting created an excellent basis for further intensification of bilateral relations.

The meeting confirmed that the French partners maintain the position of supporting an atmosphere of trust and cooperation in Europe and the development of a constructive dialogue between Russia and Western countries.
