The Ryazan Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues the investigation into an offense under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 105 (murder of two persons) of the Criminal Code of Russia launched upon discovering the bodies of a Great Patriotic War veteran and his wife bearing signs of violent death in their apartment in Ryazan on September 26, 2019.

Since the moment of its commission, the cynical and arrogant crime has been investigated by an investigative and operational group, which included operational officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Ryazan region along with investigators, experts, and forensic specialists of the Ryazan Regional Investigations Directorate. The Ryazan investigators received extensive support from the Main Forensics Directorate (Forensics Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia, with the direct participation of forensic investigators, who planned and conducted inquiries and searches for the case.

A well-planned initial stage of the investigation established the involvement of a Ryazan resident born in 1999 in the murder. The suspect has been detained; investigative activities are being carried out in order to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
