In Bryansk Region, a probe launched into purchase of overpriced housing for orphan children

The Bryansk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into purchase of housing for orphan children and children left without parental care at unreasonable inflated prices under Part 1 of Article 286, Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia (exceeding official powers and swindling on an especially large scale).

According to investigation, administration authorities of Komarichskiy District intentionally inflated prices of housing purchased during implementation of a state program for providing housing for orphan children and children left without parental care. Digital auctions for purchasing housing were carried out in participation of one predefined seller without reducing prices of apartments. After registration of municipal contracts the sellers of the apartments received money at the maximum price of the contract. The illegal activities of administration authorities of Komarichskiy District and procurement participants inflicted damage of at least 3 million roubles to the budget of the Russian Federation. The offence was detected by officers of regional directorates of the Federal Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Investigative actions required to establish all the circumstances of the accident are being carried out. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
