Alexander Bastrykin met with veterans of the criminal investigation in St. Petersburg

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin held a meeting in St. Petersburg with veterans of the Leningrad criminal investigation dedicated to the recent professional day of one of the most important services of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The event was also attended by the heads and staff of investigative units of St. Petersburg, the teaching staff and students of the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps of the IC of Russia and St. Petersburg Academy of the IC of Russia. 

Welcoming the audience, Alexander Bastrykin emphasized the importance of the work carried out by the criminal investigation units in the fight against crime. After more than a century, representatives of the investigation department remain faithful to the law, risking their lives and doing their best to accomplish their tasks. The knowledge and experience gained over the years has acquired a high value, and today's veterans share it generously with the younger generation of officers, thus continuing beeing faithful to the best traditions of officership and oath.    

The Chairman of the IC of Russia noted the high efficiency of the activities of operational services staff, whose professionalism and dedication at all times were at the highest level. He noted: "Professionals know for sure that there is no stronger union than a criminal investigator and case officer, literally a union of sword and plowshare! When they join in solving the cases of investigative and operational-search actions, everything works out, as always." The head of the department highly appreciated the persistence, courage and uncompromising nature of the Leningrad criminal investigation in ensuring law and order.

A number of invited veterans of the internal affairs and investigation were granted official awards by the decision of Alexander Bastrykin for their professionalism and valor during the years of service.       

The ceremonial event continued with a gala concert prepared for the guests of the event by the students of the St. Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Investigative Committee of Russia and criminal investigation officers always work together to protect the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of our citizens, seeking to establish objective truth and bring the perpetrators to justice. It's a daily hard and painstaking job.
