Six persons using violence against law enforcement officers identified during investigation of a probe into mass riots of July

Six persons suspected of committing offences under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Russia (use of violence against representative of authority) have been identified during investigation of probe into mass riots and use of violence against representatives of authorities in July investigated by the Investigative Committee of Russia. 

On July 27, 2019 in Rozhdestvenka street of Moscow city Egor Lesnyh and Maxim Martintsov, acting as a group, attacked a National Guard officer and threw him to a sidewalk. Apart from that, Lesnyh kicked the law enforcement officer.

Another suspect, Andrey Barshay, attacked a National Guard officer by pushing him in the back with a running start.

Investigators also established illegal actions against a national guard officers of Vladimir Emelyanov, who was holding the officer and keeping him from fulfillment of his duties.   

Illegal actions of the indicated persons are proved by testimony of witnesses and video records from the scene of accidents.

At the moment Barshay, Emelyanov, Lesnyh and Martintsov are detained as suspects. Searches at their residences have been carried out.

Two other identified persons fled after they found out about investigative actions.

All detainees will be charged in the nearest future, following which the investigation will motion the court to decide upon the measure of restraint.
