Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Central Office to supervise investigation process of a probe into a traffic accident in Kirov Region entailing death of a 6-year-old child.

In July of this year in Kirov Region, a six-year-old boy rode a bike on a country road and was killed by a car. The Kirov Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating a probe under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia (traffic violation). It was established that the car was driven by an acting police officer - operative attendant of Nemsky checkpoint of Kilmezsky Intermunicipal Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Mass media reported that the boy's blood contained 0.51 ppm of alcohol. The examination data provoked mistrust of relatives of the deceased child who are at present demanding impartial and comprehensive investigation and express concerns that the guilty person will avoid legal responsibility.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed to give an explicit assessment to the reported information, study all arguments and arrange forensic re-examinations.
