The Investigative Committee of Russia detains Head of Novocherkassk City Administration of Rostov Region

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia detained Igor Zuzin, currently holding a position of Head of Novocherkassk City Administration of Rostov Region, suspected of committing an offence under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia (bribe-taking on a large scale).

According to the investigation, Zuzin, being a Mayor of Zverevo city of Rostov Region, in a preliminary conspiracy with Albina Poroshina, previously holding a position of Deputy Head of the same municipal administration, in 2017 received a bribe from a Director of a commercial enterprise. The illegal remuneration amounted to over 2.6 million roubles.

For committing of the indicated offence (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia) Poroshina was sentenced to long-term imprisonment. Involvement of Zuzin was revealed in a testimony of the woman indicating him as her accomplice.

In the nearest future, a preventive measure for Zuzin will be elected and charges will be pressed. Investigation is carrying out all required actions aimed to prove evidence and detect other possible episodes of illegal activities.
