Upon instruction of Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, a probe of technological accident in Krasnoyarsk Region which entailed death of fifteen people (Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of Russia violation of safety rules during mining that has entailed by negligence the death of two and more persons) has been referred to the Main Investigations Directorate of IC of Russia for a full, comprehensive and credible investigation.
Earlier, upon review of investigative motion and submitted materials, the court ruled to put into custody the director of the gold mining company "Sisim", the head and master of the mining site of the same organization for two months.
During the interrogation, the director of the organization told that there was a strongbox with the gold in one of the technical rooms destroyed by water.
As part of the investigation, at daytime of 22 October 2019, the officers of Ministry for Emergency Situations found a closed metal strongbox after the drainage of one of the backwaters. The investigative team unsealed the strongbox which contained 9 flasks with undamaged seals and, supposedly, gold, and also 14 sealed packs with the concentrate for secondary treatment. All items were seized, they entered the probe.
In the near future, the investigation will motion the court to arrest gold in order to reimburse the victims' possible claims.
To date, the bodies of two other missing workers have been found and three remain missing.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
