The Altai Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a probe under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (fulfillment of works or rendering of services which do not meet standards of safety entailing by negligence the death of two or more persons).

In the morning of October 26, 2019 at a section of the road Barnaul - Rubtsovsk in Topchihinskiy District a driver of Nissan Presage driving in the direction from Barnaul to Aleysk swerved across the line into oncoming traffic colliding into a Fiat Ducato. The traffic accident entailed death of 8 persons including a child born in 2011.

As it was preliminary established, the minibus had aboard a group of senior people heading to an art contest; Nissan Presage - a family of four people including a child.

At present, investigators and forensic investigators led by the Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia are examining the scene.
