Russian investigation grants access to Polish commission for another examination of the wreckage of the Presidential plane Tu-154M

Upon request for legal assistance from Polish colleagues, representatives of the Investigative Committee of Russia and officials of Polish relevant authorities proceeded to the examination of the wreckage of the plane crashed in April 2010. This is the second visit of the Polish party to Russia related to the investigation of circumstances of the crash of the Polish plane Tu-154M this year.

According to agreements between two parties, the Polish delegation consisting of 7 persons including representatives of the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office examine plane parts of interest with the participation of officers of the Main Investigations Directorate and Main Forensics Directorate (Forensics Centre) of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The events are being photographed and video recorded.

As noted earlier, the Russian investigation has no doubts about the circumstances of the aircraft accident. All the materials gathered are an unequivocal testimony about the crew’s erroneous actions, that is, continuing the landing in poor visibility.

The Russian party is always willing to cooperate on this matter.
