Investigators put kingpin Nadir Ismailov on international wanted list

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has launched the investigation into 47-year-old Nadir Ismailov (previously Salifov, known in prison facilities as Guli) suspected of committing an offense under Article 210.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (occupying a senior position in a criminal hierarchy).

According to the investigation, from 2009 to present, Ismailov, being outside of the Russian Federation and using his authority and influence in the criminal sphere, posing as a kingpin, has been engaged in the organization, management, and coordination of illegal activities in Moscow and other Russian regions.

The investigators are also working on a probe into his kidnapping people in Moscow and Tolyatti for extortion launched under Articles 126 and 163 of the Criminal Code of Russia. Charges under this probe were pressed in Ismailov’s absentia.

The perpetrator has been placed on the international wanted list, and the court ruled to detain him in absentia.

The investigators jointly with officers of the Federal Security Service and the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs are carrying out a set of investigative actions aimed to locate and arrest Nadir Ismailov. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
