Investigation into former Deputy Head of Main Directorate of Federal Penitentiary Service over St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, accused of bribe-taking, finished
The St. Petersburg Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished the investigation into former Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service over St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region 56-year-old Sergey Moiseenko accused of commission of an offense under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia (bribe-taking).
According to probe materials, from March 2010 to August 2015, Moiseenko repeatedly received bribes of the total value of 710 million rubles from two directors of commercial entities for general patronage. In particular, Moiseenko instructed his subordinates to sign work completion statements without delays, to pay for the works, and to make maximum advance payments provided for by the previously concluded state contract at the beginning of each year. Apart from that, actions in favor of the designated entrepreneurs and their commercial entities were carried out during the implementation of a state contract for construction works in the Kresty-2 detention center in Kolpin.
The investigators collected enough evidence for the criminal case to be transferred for the conclusion of an indictment.
Previously the court issued a sentence over the Director-General of the commercial entity who signed a pre-trial immunity agreement.
Another entrepreneur was exempted from criminal liability under a footnote to Article 291 of the Criminal Code of Russia as a person who voluntarily reported bribe-giving.
