Alexander Bastrykin starts the All-Russian Patriotic Good Deeds Relay of the Investigative Committee of Russia

Today in the Victory Hall of the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces, a special event was held to mark the start of the All-Russian Patriotic Youth Good Deeds Relay of the Investigative Committee of Russia dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

This action is aimed to provide help to the Great Patriotic War veterans and their families, as well as all people in need of support and care of the officers and mentees of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, Head of Educational Outreach Directorate of the Committee Sergey Petrov, founder of the interregional public organization “Youth Union “Young Investigator” Viktor Vdovkin, Chairman of the National Association of investigative veterans organizations “Union of Investigation Veterans” Vladimir Dontsov, students of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia, cadets of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia, representatives of investigative units of Moscow Region, investigative veterans, and representatives of the Russian Association of Heroes of Russia.

Apart from that, the special meeting was attended by a delegation of the Republic of Armenia led by Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Hayk Grigoryan. The foreign colleagues appreciated the high level of organization of the event, its high significance for the youth and for future generations and its special role in the patriotic upbringing of the young generation in terms of respect to the memory of the heroic feat of their ancestors.

“The Good Deeds relay is dedicated to the great memory of our Motherland and is part of the federal plan of events marking the 75th anniversary of the Victory. The relay route goes from the Far East to Kaliningrad. The Relay Banner will be passed in Kamchatka Territory, Sakhalin Region, administrative centers of federal districts, Hero Cities, and Cities of Military Glory of Russia. Our action will embrace all those who defended the Motherland in the hard times and ensured the Great Victory,” said Alexander Bastrykin in his welcoming address and added that the Relay was led by representatives of the new youth organization of the Investigative Committee of Russia “Youth Union “Young Investigator”.

Vladimir Dontsov encouraged young people to always remember about the participation of our Motherland in the Great Patriotic War and never let anyone belittle or devalue the achievements of Russia and heroism of our ancestors in ensuring the Victory.

Founder of the interregional public organization “Youth Union “Young Investigator”, Hero of Russia Viktor Vdovkin proudly reported to the participants and guests of the event that the Good Deeds Relay Flag was carried by the group of guards of the standard of the parade crew of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia across the Red Square during the solemn procession dedicated to the historical parade of 1941, which was a very significant and honorable event.

The straight “A” student of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia Vitaly Nazimov told the audience about the feat of his grandfather. He was the one honored to carry the Good Deeds Relay Flag across the Red Square.

In order to start the Youth Good Deeds Relay of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin handed the Relay Banner to Head of the Kamchatka Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Lipalo.

Although the Relay was launched today, many constituent entities of the Russian Federation have already started carrying out events to provide help to the Great Patriotic War Veterans and those in need of help. Officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia give attention to senior people, orphaned children, and low-income families. The children are provided with thematic tours, exhibitions, visits to theatres and museums. Officers of the Investigative Committee help the senior people with domestic chores, walk them to medical institutions, and provide help in solving vital issues.
