In Zabaikalsky Region, court sentences two underage citizens of Kyrinsky District accused of committing especially grave offenses to preventive detention

The Zabaikalsky Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues the investigation of a probe into underage citizens of Kyrinsky District accused of offenses under Part 4 of Article 111 (intentional infliction of severe health damage entailing by negligence the death of the victim) and Part 2 of Article 132 (sexual assault committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

To remind, the minors are accused of breaking in a private house in a rural settlement of Kyrinsky District on October 27, 2019, where they committed violent sexual actions against a woman and beat a 40-year-old man who subsequently died. The investigators detained the three perpetrators on the same day; the court granted the investigative motion to put them in custody. During the next days, investigators detained two more underage persons; today they have been subjected to preventive detention upon an investigative motion.

The investigation of the high impact probe is supervised by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia. In order to provide practical and methodological assistance, the investigation engaged investigators of the Main Forensics Directorate of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia, including two senior forensic investigators who provided methodological help for using forensic equipment on-site and two psychologists that took part in the interrogation of juveniles and composed their psychological portrays.

At present, investigators continue to carry out a set of investigative actions aimed to establish all the circumstances of the offense. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
