The Saint Petersburg Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia pressed charges against associate Professor of Institute of History of the Saint Petersburg State University for a murder of a young woman (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia).
According to the investigation, on the morning of November 9, 2019, the Associate Professor of the Institute of History of the Saint Petersburg State University was rescued from water opposite one of the buildings on Moika Promenade; his backpack contained two detached female hands and a traumatic pistol. The man was arrested.
Today the court reviewed the investigative motion for pre-trial custody for the suspect. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
