Alexander Bastrykin instructs the Central Office to supervise process of assessment into failure to provide help to senior and violation of children’s rights in Lipetsk Region

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has instructed the Central Office to supervise the process of a pre-investigative probe launched upon a mass media report of the failure to provide help to a senior citizen who died on the roadway in Lipetsk. According to a TV channel, in Lipetsk, a senior citizen felt sick on the road and died. In this, relatives of the deceased are convinced that the tragedy might have been prevented if the medical workers arrived in time. Moreover, according to the relatives of the deceased, traffic patrol service officers failed to apply first aid and called the man dead when calling the ambulance though it had not been established. Alexander Bastrykin instructed to establish all circumstances of the incident, to verify all arguments of the relatives of the deceased man, and to give a relevant legal assessment to the situation.

Moreover, today on one of the federal TV channels a Lipetsk Region citizen convicted her daughter of neglect of duties in the upbringing of two minor children. She also reported physical violence against her grandchildren committed by the partner of her daughter. The woman demands to deprive her daughter of parental rights and blames guardianship authorities for inaction. Alexander Bastrykin instructed to verify the arguments of the woman and to give legal assessment to actions (inaction) of authorities responsible for prevention and control over children’s well-being.
