Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia continue identifying persons involved in crimes against justice

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues the investigation of probes into publishing on the Internet public calls for extremist activities and murder and health damage threats against a judge of the Moscow Municipal Court (Part 2 of Article 280, Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

The day before, investigators have interrogated Sergey Polovets escorted to the Investigative Committee of Russia in relation to the investigation into the murder and health damage threats against a judge of the Moscow Municipal Court (Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Russia). Giving testimony, Polovets informed the investigation about his acquaintance, the direct author of the publication, exposing the latter as a person who committed the illegal action.

As a result of Rolovets’ assistance to the investigation, another suspect, Eugeny Erzunov, was detained in the Vnukovo airport before his flight abroad. After carrying out the required investigative actions, the investigation is intended to press charges against the designated person under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

The existing legislation provides for criminal responsibility for criminal threats against judges serving their duty; therefore, every episode of such illegal activities will be given a comprehensive legal assessment, as any other crime provided for by the criminal legislation.
