Alexander Bastrykin instructs to hand probe into death of girl during vacation in Artek International Children Centre to Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia


The probe into the death of a 15-year-old girl from Makhachkala, launched by the Main Investigations Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, was referred to the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia upon the instruction of the Chairman of the Committee. Further investigation of the circumstances of the child’s death is assigned to the Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the investigation, yesterday, on November 12, 2019, the schoolgirl went to sleep and was found showing no vital signs in the morning.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee put the process of the preliminary investigation under supervision. He also pointed out that it is necessary to promptly carry out all required investigative actions including requesting documents concerning the girl’s health and forensic examinations aimed to establish the cause of her death and circumstances related to it.

Investigators and forensic specialists continue working on-site, interrogating workers of the Centre and establishing the preceding days’ events.
