Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to launch a probe into a traffic accident entailing the death of seven persons in Zabaykalsky Territory

On November 14, 2019, at approximately 7 AM in Aginsky District of Zabaykalsky Territory, a driver of Hyundai minibus carrying passengers from Yasnogorsk to Chita collided with Shacman truck parked on the side of the road. After that, the minibus swerved onto the upcoming traffic and collided with ZIL truck. Collision of three vehicles entailed the death of seven persons. The Zabaikalsky Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is carrying out a pre-investigative probe into this matter. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to launch a probe under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering of services failing to meet safety requirements).

Alexander Bastrykin also sent to Zabaikalsky Territory forensic specialists of the Main Forensics Directorate (Forensic Centre) to provide practical assistance in establishing of circumstances of the accident.

At present, the investigation is examining the scene and interrogating witnesses.
