Director General of private security company detained in relation to the accident in Blagoveshchensk college

The Amur Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has detained the Director General of the private security company Sirius-A as part of the investigation under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering of works or services failing to meet the safety requirements, entailing by negligence the death of two or more persons).

According to the investigation, the suspect engaged in the security activities at the Amur College of Construction and Public Utilities a person without a required license for security activities. On November 14, 2019, a 19-year-old student of this educational institution shot his groupmates with a hunting rifle and committed suicide.

At the moment, the suspect has been placed into a temporary holding facility; the investigation intends to send a motion to the court to rule for his detention. Investigative actions are being carried out in order to establish all the circumstances of the committed crime. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
