Today the Investigative Committee of Russia hosted a meeting with the attaché of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Moscow, General of the Financial Guard of Italy Claudio Ramponi.

In August Mr. Ramponi will complete his mission to Russia; in this relation the parties summarized the continuous and efficient cooperation of the agencies during the indicated period.

Cooperation of the Investigative Committee of Russia and relevant authorities of the Italian Republic can be characterized as constructive and stable. It is successfully implemented within the framework of providing legal assistance for probes as well as in the area of providing assistance in combating crime, including exchange of crime solving experience especially related to offences involving corruption, related to legalization of profits acquired in an illegal way.

Taking into account the significance and productivity of the Russian-Italian law enforcement cooperation, Investigative Committee of Russia takes the required measures for further development of relations with Italian colleagues. Thus, the parties agreed on training of the officers of the Main Forensics Directorate in the international advanced training school for combating organized crime. Representative of relative authorities of the Italian Republic regularly make speeches and deliver lectures in the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Such forms of experience exchange attract professional interest and consequently bring tangible results.

In conclusion of the meeting as a token of gratitude for the long fruitful cooperation General Rampony was awarded with a medal of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation "For Strengthening of International Cooperation". The parties also agreed on continued direct contacts with representatives of the Financial Guard of Italy on issues of mutual interest and sending groups of experts for further exchange of experience and best practice of combating organized crime.
