On January 22, 2019 the delegation of the Police of the Republic of Finland led by Head of the Investigative Department of the Central Criminal Police Sanna Palo visited the Russian Federation. During the visit the Finnish party visited the Murmansk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

During the working meeting the parties discussed relative issues of interaction on combating crime, international cooperation on certain probes, including providing mutual legal assistance and organization of joint events for exchange of experience within the scope of competence.

Forensic experts of the Investigations Directorate shared with the Finnish colleagues their accomplishments in forensic surveillance of preliminary investigations and demonstrated samples of forensic and special equipment used for solving of grave and especially grave offences in circumstances of polar night. Foreign guests noted that they have seen some of the demonstrated equipment for the first time. The Finns tried to use the forensic and special equipment with great interest.

The Head of the Investigations Directorate Andrey Efremov told the Finnish colleagues about the social work of the Committee - patronage assistance to institutions for children and teenagers in socially dangerous situation. Finns with great interest viewed the exhibition of children's works and drawings and noted importance of participation of officers of the Investigations Directorate in the life of children in difficult situation. Achievements of students of the cadet class of the Murmansk Lyceum No 2 - awards received by the students for sports achievements, participation in contests, scientific forums and conferences and academic competitions - were also demonstrated to the guests.

Upon the meeting held in Murmansk the parties agreed to continue cooperation between the officers of the Murmansk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and representatives of the Police of Finland.
