A number of targeted attacks against Donbass citizens provided grounds for probes launching

Cruel actions contrary to the law and falling beyond any reasonable explanation cannot go unnoticed. Therefore investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continue documenting the facts of illegal activities of Ukrainian military forces in the non-international military conflict in Donbass.

On October 31, 2019, a medical vehicle marked with a Red Cross emblem was deliberately shelled by servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces performed a targeted attack using anti-tank weapon launchers. The car was headed to Belaya Kamenka village of Telmanovsky District of the self-appointed Donetsk People’s Republic. Two workers of a medical service, being on board, were wounded.

Apart from that, on November 1 and 13, 2019, the Ukrainian Special Forces officers fired rocket-propelled grenades, high-casualty mortars and firearms at civilian infrastructure facilities of no military target and residential buildings in Kastalskogo street in Trudovskaya mine settlement of Petrovsky District and in Privokzalnaya street in Spartak village of Yasinovatsky settlement of the self-appointed Donetsk People’s Republic. Two civilians received injuries of varying severity.

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched three probes into this matter under Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of Russia (cruel treatment of civilians and use in a military conflict of means and methods of warfare, banned by an international treaty of the Russian Federation).

Investigative actions and search activities aimed to establish all circumstances of the said offences and to identify all military Ukrainian military officials involved in their committing are ongoing.
