In Moscow, investigation of a probe into abandoning of a child by a mother in a Reserve territory finished

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation finished investigation of a probe into a 34-year-old woman convicted of committing socially dangerous acts under Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraphs C, E of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (attempted murder committed with especial cruelty against a minor) and Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Russia (improper discharge of duties of bringing up a minor attended by cruel treatment of a minor).

In the morning of February 18 a minor child was discovered in Elk Island Reserve.

Investigation established that the night before the boy was left in the Reserve territory by his mother who restricted his movement. The child was alone in the forest for a long period of time, during night, at ambient temperature below zero.

Investigation of the probe included carrying out a stationary complex psychological and psychiatric forensic examination that recognized the woman as a person in need of compulsory treatment. At the moment of committing of the offences she couldn't recognize the actual nature of her actions or the danger they represented to society, or to control them.

The probe with an approved indictment was referred to court to decide upon subjecting the woman to compulsory medical treatment.
