In Moscow Region, Chekhov Governor charged with municipal property swindling

The Moscow Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has detained the Governor of the Chekhov Municipality. She is charged with especially large-scale swindling through her official position (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Russia). The launched probe is based on materials provided by the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Moscow Regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the investigation, as a result of the illegal actions of the Governor of Chekhov Municipality, a real estate object--a building of the total area of 330 square meters and of the cadastral value of over 7.3 million rubles--was illegally excluded from municipal property. In this relation, especially large-scale damage of the designated value was inflicted on the Chekhov Municipal Administration.

During interrogation, the accused woman agreed to testify. Today the investigator will motion the court to elect a preventive measure for her.

The investigator is carrying out a set of investigative activities aimed to prove evidence. The investigation will check the involvement of the accused in other similar offenses.
