On December 1, 2019, around 3 PM a passenger bus fell from a bridge in Sretensky District of Zabaikalsky Region. The Zabaikalsky Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a probe into this matter under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering services which do not meet safety standards, entailing by negligence the death of two or more persons).

According to the investigation, the KIA GRANDBIRD fell from the bridge across the Kuenga River 60 kilometers from Sretensk on its regular route from Chita to Sretensk.

Forensic investigators of the Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia have been assigned to the scene. The exact number of persons injured and killed in this traffic accident is being clarified.

At the moment, investigative actions are being conducted to determine all the circumstances of the committed offense. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
