Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructs to launch probe into violation of rights of citizens in Moscow Region
Today a federal TV channel broadcast a story about people with hearing impairments affected by fraudulent activities in Moscow Region.
One of the victims living in Korolev claims that her acquaintance had asked her to sign some unknown documents; afterward, it became known that this way the senior citizen had given consent to sell her apartment. According to the documents, the victim allegedly received money for it, which in fact never happened. At present, the new owner is threatening the senior woman and demands her eviction.
Another victimized woman from Podolsk reports that her father, also having hearing impairments, allegedly sold his apartment, despite three underage grandchildren registered in it, and did not notify anyone about the deal. According to the journalists, the woman’s father might have been also forced to sign the sales contract.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the management of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate to immediately launch a procedural probe into the violation of the rights of disabled persons to include an examination of all arguments presented by the journalists. Alexander Bastrykin ordered to report on the pre-investigative probe status as quickly as possible and instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise its results.
