Former Deputy of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine charged in absentia with attack against Russian Embassy in Kyiv in 2016

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues the investigation into the attack against the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kyiv in March 2016.

During the investigation, investigation obtained irrefutable evidence of the involvement of former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Igor Mosiychuk in the attack. As a result of Mosiychuk’s and other persons’ illegal actions, the regular operation of the Russian diplomatic institution had been severely violated, and significant material damage had been caused to the property of the Embassy of Russia in Ukraine.

Mosiychuk has been charged with committing an offense under Article 360 of the Criminal Code of Russia (assaults on persons or institutions enjoying international protection) and declared wanted.

The Investigative Committee of Russia has brought to criminal responsibility other Ukrainian deputies--Vladimir Parasyuk and Andrey Lozovoy--for assaults on diplomatic institutions of the Russian Federation. Nikolay Rudkovsky already stood the Russian trial.

The investigation into the attacks against the Russian foreign institutions in Ukraine is ongoing. Investigators take measures to identify all those involved in these offenses; their actions will be given an appropriate legal assessment.
