In Altai Territory Biysk citizen found guilty of murdering her daughter

The evidence gathered by the Altai Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has been found by the court to be sufficient to convict 26-year-old Yekaterina Shishkova. She has been found guilty of committing an offense under Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder).

The investigation and the court established that, while bringing up the minor, Shishkova maintained an asocial lifestyle and abused alcohol. At night of July 28, 2019, she returned home with her daughter, being under the influence of alcohol. Since the child could not calm down and kept crying, the woman struck the girl on the head with force, smashed her against a wall, and went to sleep. The death of the child was caused by traumatic brain injury. In the morning, having realized that her daughter was dead, the perpetrator wrapped her body in a plastic bag, brought it to an entrance hall of one of the residential buildings, and fled.

During the preliminary investigation, Shishkova admitted her guilt in the murder to the full and explained that she had wanted to kill the child since the daughter had interfered with her frivolous lifestyle and consumed a lot of effort and time.

The court ruled to sentence the woman to 15 years of imprisonment in a special regime correctional colony.
