A federal TV channel broadcast a discussion of the investigation process of the probes into the traffic accident with the bus carrying pilgrims on their way back from the sacred procession that occurred in Zabaikalsky Territory in 2017. To remind, on the night of June 12, 2017, the bus with 51 people aboard had fallen from a cliff on the 702nd kilometer of the Baikal highway that had been undergoing roadworks. As a result, 14 persons had died, including the driver, and over twenty persons had been injured.

Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the Zabaikalsky Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to report on the progress and results of the criminal inquiries into this traffic accident and instructed the Central Office to supervise the investigation.
