Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia takes part in Russian Organizing Committee "Victory"

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin took part in Russian Organizing Committee "Victory" chaired by the President of the Russian Federation.

Heads of Presidential Administration, representatives of Government of the Russian Federation and Federal Assembly, Heads of Federal executive authorities and representatives of a number of public organizations - members of the Organizing Committee discussed process of preparations to the Year of Memory and Glory, preserving the memory and preventing falsification of the Great Patriotic War history. The participants mentioned providing of support to veterans of the Great Patriotic War, construction of Soviet Soldier Memorial in Rzhev, activities of search groups, project "No statute of limitations" and other activities related to implementation of goals of the Organizing Committee.

In anticipation of the upcoming celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War the Investigative Committee of Russia upon instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia organized one of the most important events dedicated to the Victory Anniversary - the All-Russian Patriotic Youth Good Deeds Relay. On November 8, 2019 in the Victory Hall of the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces, a special event was held to mark the start of the relay, the Good Deeds Relay Flag was carried by the group of guards of the standard of the parade crew of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps across the Red Square during the solemn procession dedicated to the historical parade of 1941. The point of the relay is in good deeds done by young people and officers of the Committee: providing help to veterans of Great Patriotic War, families of deceased combat veterans and Young Heroes of Russia who sacrificed their lives. The relay route goes from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad.

Alexander Bastrykin repeatedly stressed that the memory of the past war defines the future, and it was called upon to serve as a warning to the mankind about devastating effects of fascist ideology. In order to prevent fascism from spreading again and avoid falsification of historical truth, the Investigative Committee of Russia will continue its work of memorialization of the feat of our people and bringing up the young generation in the context of heroic feats of their ancestors, without which greatness and dignity of Russia is impossible.
