Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia puts under supervision a number of procedural probes into incidents and violations in Kurgan, Rostov, and Chelyabinsk Regions reported by mass media

Today a federal TV channel broadcast a story of a girl from Kurgan having a birthmark covering all of her body surfaces, which is dangerous for her health. There was a request for gathering funds to help the child on social networks; however, the parents became targets for harassment, receiving appeals to kill the girl. Moreover, it was noted that the parents tried to schedule a girl for a quota surgery in a Moscow hospital but the request was denied. The Kurgan Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has arranged a pre-investigative probe.

Also, journalists of a federal TV channel reported about problems of a family with many children in Rostov Region. They have been renting different apartments for 5 years already, fearing that guardianship authorities might remove the children from their family. The reason for that was dilapidated housing. The family had invested maternal capital in a country house, and after the first winter, the ceiling had started to collapse and cracks in the walls started to appear. The parents of six children appealed to the administration for help, but in response, the guardianship authorities visited them and threatened to remove their children. The parents of many children applied to the court with a request to oblige the administration to recognize the house as unsuitable for living; however, despite the positive decision, the authorities fail to fulfill it. The Rostov Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has arranged a pre-investigative probe.

A federal TV channel also discussed problems of a wheelchair user from Chelyabinsk. When he was buying an apartment in a new house, the project documentation had contained a ramp. When the construction was finished, the ramp was there but it was unusable. The man filed a lawsuit and won the case. The public utilities were obliged to create the required conditions; however, the court decision has not been implemented and independent examinations show that nothing can be fixed. The Chelyabinsk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has arranged a pre-investigative probe.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed the Heads of the Kurgan, Rostov, and Chelyabinsk Regional Investigations Directorates to thoroughly examine by means of procedural probes all the arguments provided by journalists in the reports about the incidents and violations in the regions. Alexander Bastrykin has instructed the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia to supervise all the above-listed probes.
