One of the members of Kupavninskaya gang found guilty of banditry and several other grave offenses

The evidence gathered by the Moscow Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has been found sufficient by the court to sentence 36-year-old Sergey Vlasov. He has been found guilty of committing offenses under Part 2 of Article 105 (murder); Part 2 of Article 209 (banditry); Part 3 of Article 222 (illegal traffic of firearms); Part 4 of Article 162 (robbery); Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

The investigation and the court established that, in 2007, the so-called Kupavninskaya gang had been created in the Staraya Kupavna settlement of Noginsky District of Moscow Region, in order to commit robbery attacks on citizens carrying large sums of money and subsequent taking over their property, including that through committing murders. The gang had been directly managed by Monogov, Sorokin, Aksenov, and Muravlev, who ha chosen targets for attacks, developed criminal schemes, and distributed roles between the accomplices. The gang had included other persons, such as Vlasov, that had been not only aware of the gang objectives but voluntarily joined the gang and took an active part in the committed offenses. The gang had been financed with money acquired in robbery attacks on citizens. It must be noted that the accomplices had been well-prepared for criminal purposes both physically and technically: firearms, numerous vehicles, and means of communication had helped them to tackle their goals.

It was established that, in December 2009, the gang members had committed an armed attack on workers of the GBB private security company in the Moscow fair market complex, through which they had murdered three security guards and stolen over 74 million rubles.

In August 2010, Vlasov together with other gang members had attacked workers of Torg Sbyt LLC, one of whom had received gunshot wounds and the other one had been killed. In total, the perpetrators had stolen over 470,000 rubles.

Apart from that, participants of the gang had committed a number of robbery attacks on Moscow and Moscow Region citizens. In particular, in August 2012, they had beaten two Moscow citizens and stolen from them 13 million rubles.

Earlier, eight members of the gang were sentenced by the court to long-term imprisonment.

Today the court has sentenced Sergey Vlasov to 15 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony.
