Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to refer criminal case into shooting on Bolshaya Lubyanka Street in Moscow to the Central Office for further investigation

Upon instruction of Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, the criminal case into the encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Russia has been referred to the Central Office of the Investigative Committee for further investigation.

It was found that on the evening of December 19, 2019, a man, while in front of the FSB building on Bolshaya Lubyanka Street in Moscow, opened fire towards law enforcement officers. The incident resulted in the death of one FSB officer and the injury of five others, including one civilian, in varying degrees of severity. The attacker was eliminated.

At the moment, a crime scene investigation team is working on the site. Investigators and forensic specialists are conducting the required investigative activities aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime.
