Investigative Committee of Russia continues establishing all circumstances of encroachment on law enforcement officers in Moscow

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues investigating into encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers committed near the Office of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

An operational headquarters has been set up for the investigation consisting of experienced investigators and forensic specialists of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia and officers of the Federal Security Service providing operational support.

During the investigation, the attacker has been identified--a 39-year-old Moscow Region resident Yevgeny Manyurov. It was established that, on the evening of December 19, 2019, he started shooting at law enforcement officers near the Office of the Federal Security Service of Russia. As a result, one of the officers died at the scene and another one was delivered to a hospital in a grave condition and subsequently passed away. Five more persons, including one civilian, received wounds of varying severity. The actions of the attacker were suppressed during a special operation.

At present, the investigation is examining all circumstances of the offense, including the personality of the attacker and reasons that pushed him to commit the offense.
