Alexander Bastrykin holds a New Year reception session for Investigative Committee students among orphaned and left without parental care children

In anticipation of the New Year, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has held a reception for orphaned and left without parental care children among students of educational institutions of the Committee, including children of Investigative Committee officers killed in the line of duty.

The meeting was attended by students of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps, Fedor Slipchenko Cadet Corps, and Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The meeting was also attended by Head of the Educational Outreach Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia--Hero of Russia Sergey Petrov, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Association of Investigation Veterans Organizations “Union of Investigation Veterans” Vladimir Dontsov, Director of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia--Hero of the Soviet Union Igor Zaporozhan, Director of the Fedor Slipchenko Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexey Pindych, Acting Rector of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia Anatoly Bagmet, and officers of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Welcoming the students, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia noted that annual meetings in anticipation of the New Year holidays had become a good tradition. During the reception, the children described their studying conditions and future plans. Cadets and students also shared their impressions of taking part in patriotic events dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Alexander Bastrykin thanked the young generation for their impact on the important issue of preserving the national memory: “The link between generations is very important. Our duty is not only to know the history of our country, our ancestors that accomplished heroic feats for our sake and sacrificed their lives; our key priority is to immortalize defenders of our Motherland. Joining the Young Army All-Russian Military Patriotic Public Movement and taking part in the Young Investigator Educational Program, you actively help the senior generation for the benefit of the country.”

Later during the meeting, cadets and students organized a concert, recited poems they had written, sang patriotic songs, and presented their achievements and social activities in 2019.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia discussed with the present children questions they had, awarded them memorable gifts, and wished they maintained good traditions of true officers.
